John Alden (c. 1599 - 1687)
  • ​11th Great-Grandfather​​
  • Sailed in 1620 on the MAYFLOWER from England.
  • 7th signer of the Mayflower Compact.
  • Hired as a Cooper (barrel maker) in Hampton, England for the journey.
  • Served in several positions including undertaker, Deputy Governor, Colony Treasurer, member of the council from 1650 to 1687 and member of the committee in charge of revising laws. 
  • One of the founders of Duxbury, Massachusetts.
  • At the time of his death in 1687, he was the last male survivor of the Mayflower Company.

  • Survived the first winter.
  • Served as the Assistant Governor of Plymouth Colony.
